Run the Change object end date process to apply the change in an object's end date to all as-built structures and service contracts containing the object. The change does not affect the service contract versions and service contracts themselves.
Applying the change in the end date to the object components will have the following consequences:
Historical as-built lines: These lines are not changed.
Current as-built lines: As-built lines that are current based on the end date will be assigned the end date specified in the Change object end date process as their new end date.
Future as-built lines: Any as-built lines already entered that have a start date later than the end date specified in the Change object end date process will be deleted. Any links to documents will also be deleted. These objects had been scheduled to be included in the structure, but never actually became part of it.
Applying the change in the end date to the as-built structure of parent objects will have the following consequences:
Historical as-built lines: These lines are not changed.
Current as-built lines: In the as-built structure of parent objects that are current based on the end date, any as-built lines containing the relevant object will be assigned the new end date.
Future as-built lines: Parent as-built lines will be deleted if they contain the object and have an end date that is after the end date specified in the Change end date process.
Applying the change in the end date to the service contracts containing the object will have the following consequences:
There will be no change in service contract objects with an end date in the past. If you choose to change preventive maintenance lines and invoicing schedule lines with a date after the end date specified in the Change object end date process, the end date will be changed. The end date will not be changed, however, if preventive maintenance lines and invoicing schedule lines have already been processed, or if the preventive maintenance lines and invoicing schedule lines have not yet been processed, but are linked to lines that have been processed.
Current service contract objects: If the end date specified in the Change object end date process is between the start and end dates of the object in the service contract versions, the object in those service contract versions will be assigned the end date specified in the process. The cancellation reason and date will be registered for the object in the versions. If you choose to delete preventive maintenance lines and invoicing schedule lines scheduled after the end date specified in the process, these lines will be deleted. The lines will not be deleted, however, if the lines have already been processed, or if the lines have not yet been processed, but are linked to lines that have been processed.
Note: Blocking or deactivating preventive maintenance orders and any linked invoicing schedule lines is still a manual process.
Future service contract objects: In the case of objects found in service contract versions for which the start date is after the new end date, the objects in the versions will be deleted, including the preventive maintenance and invoicing schedule items. If this is not possible (because invoice scheduling lines or preventive maintenance lines have already been processed), a message is entered in the log. The message appearing on the screen after the process has been executed will allow you to view the log.
Note: Deactivating future data is a manual process.
