Use the Release part revision process to authorize a part revision for use. A revision release triggers various checks in Isah. The revision will only be released if the following conditions are true:

• The parts on any underlying part calculation lines must have at least one released revision.
• The start date of the revision to be released must be later than the start date of the previous revision.
• All lines must have valid start and end dates. That means that the start date should match the start date of a revision, and that the finish date of the line should be equal to the finish date of a revision.

The release of a line has the following effects:

• The Released check box on the Part revisions form is selected.
• The start date of the revision to be released is filled with the date you entered for the release.
• The end date of the previous revision immediately precedes the specified start date.
• The date in the Valid from field of part calculation lines that relate only to the revision to be released will be changed into the specified start date.
• The date in the Valid to field of lines related to the previous revision, but not to the revision to be released, will be changed into the end date of the previous revision.
