Every capacity group comprises one or more machines used to perform operations. These machines are registered on the Machines form. You can record various details for a machine, such as the serial number, the storage location, the supplier, and the purchase price.
The machines do not affect the preliminary costing or scheduling of a production file. Scheduling and calculation take place based on the capacity groups. You can use the machines, however, for actual cost calculations. First, the machine rate search path is checked to see whether a machine rate has been specified for the hour code. If that is not the case, the machine rate specified for the machines is used. If no rate has been entered for the machine, the machine rate of the capacity group is used as the actual costing rate. The registration of machines is, however, entirely informational. You are not required to register your machines in Isah.
By default, this field contains the rate specified for the capacity group to which this machine belongs.
When calculating the preliminary cost price, the machine rate entered here is ignored, and the machine rate specified for the capacity group is used instead.
First, the machine rate search path for actual costing purposes is checked to see whether a machine rate has been specified for the hour code. If that is not the case, the machine rate specified for the machines is used. If no rate has been entered for the machine, the machine rate of the capacity group is used as the actual costing rate.
The standard setup time is the time generally needed to set up this machine before an operation can be started. This standard setup time is not used for calculation and planning purposes. The calculating and planning processes use the standard setup time specified for the capacity group to which this machine belongs.
The standard capacity indicates how long this machine usually takes to perform one operation, such as milling one piece. This standard capacity is not used for calculation and planning purposes. The calculating and planning processes use the standard capacity specified for the capacity group to which this machine belongs.
This field shows the number of production hours of a particular machine. The field is filled cumulatively based on the hours processed in the time registration process.

This field is only relevant if you are using the backflushing process.Use this field to specify the backflushing method for the machine.Select this check box to post machine hours using the backflushing process.
Note: If an operation line contains a specific machine, the machine-specific setting of the Backflush machine hours field takes precedence over the setting of this field as specified for the capacity group.

The overhead hours are always posted at the same time as the machine hours. Select this check box to post the overhead costs using the backflushing process. In general, you should always select this check box if you also want the machine hours to be posted using the backflushing process. If you leave this check box empty, but do select the Backflush machine hours check box, the overhead hours will be posted, but the overhead costs will not.
Note: If an operation line contains a specific machine, the machine-specific setting of the Backflush overhead field takes precedence over the setting of this field as specified for the capacity group.
