Impact of operations sequence on the planning

The sequence of the operations in a production file greatly affects the planning. Even though the operation lines you add on the Production calculation for operations form will be numbered, these line numbers do not indicate the planning sequence.

To specify the correct sequence of the operations, do one of the following:

• Select Automatic operations sequence from the Edit menu.
• Click the Subsequent operations button to manually specify the sequence. This option allows you to specify overlap times, waiting times, and transport times that affect the planning. Also, you can converge and diverge operations, which means you can send components to subsequent operations (which can then take place simultaneously), and bring them together again in a later operation.
• Specify the operations sequence in the Gantt chart
