Split up line operations

If you use line operations, use Split up line operations to make them visible in the Time registration records.

There are two ways of recording hours against a line operation:

1. You can create an hour line in the regular manner, and record the hours against this line. In this case, select the operation that acts as the line operation header.
2. To be able to see how the line operation has been split up into hour lines in the overview of processed hours, select Split up line operations. The List tab now shows the hour lines into which the operation has been split up. The Input and processing tab shows whether the line is a subdivision of a line operation, as well as the line operation line to which the hour line belongs.

Line operations and hour codes

• Hour code results in both labor and machine cost postings

  If, for a particular line operation, you enter an hour code with which both labor and machine costs are posted, the hour line will be split up into an hour line for the line operation (with labor costs), and underlying lines for the various operations (with machine costs).

  Only one hour line for labor costs can be created at any one time, because Isah is unable to process multiple hour lines for labor costs that have the same start and end time.

  For the hour line for the line operation, Isah will look for an hour code with which only labor costs are posted, and for the hour lines for the different operations, Isah will look for an hour code with which only machine costs are posted. If you want to control which hour codes are used (for example, because you want to include them in reports), perform the steps below:

  1. Create a new hour group for the line operation.
  2. Create an hour code within this hour group. Make sure that this is an hour code with which both labor and machine costs are posted, and that is applicable to the direct presence hours.
  3. Create another two hour codes within the hour group: one for labor costs and one for machine costs. All data, with the exception of the hour code, description, and the costs to be posted, must be identical to the data of the hour code for labor and machine costs.

  If, for a line operation, you enter an hour code with which only machine costs are posted, Isah will only create hour lines for all underlying operation lines. The line for the line operation will disappear, as it always relates to labor hours.
