In the Document item options section, select the Isah items to which engineers can link documents. Only the items you select here will be available when engineers use the 'Select' option in the CAD application. If you select just one item, engineers can immediately select the item. For example, if you select 'Part' and 'Engineering item', the engineer must first choose between a part and an engineering item before he can select the required part or engineering item. If you only select 'Part', engineers can immediately select the part.
It is not possible to select both 'Part' and 'Part revision'.
In the Update BOM on drawing section, specify at which times a BOM on a drawing is to be updated. At the times you choose, the BOM on the drawing will be updated automatically, to synchronize it with the BOM in Isah. For example, you can set BOM updates to be performed whenever a document has been saved in the CAD application.
Use the Font name field to select the font to be used for BOMs on drawings and balloons in AutoCAD. You can choose from all fonts available within AutoCAD.
To make sure the balloons and the BOM are shown with the right dimensions on the drawing, you should take into account the scale of the drawing. For example, if a balloon has to have a diameter of 10 mm, and the drawing has a scale of 1:10, the balloons would be printed ten times smaller than intended (1 mm). To display the balloons and the BOM with the correct size, type the scale factor of the drawing in the Scale factor field. In the example, the value is '10'.
This scale factor applies to all drawings. You can, however, use a different factor for individual drawings by entering a scale factor on the Local settings form in AutoCAD.
If you select the Use existing balloons check box, the balloons present in the drawing will determine to which item the AutoCAD drawing is linked. In the absence of this information, the document properties will provide this information. To this end, so-called Extended Entity Data (XED) information is read. If information (TableId and PrimKey) is found in a balloon, this information will be added as a document property in the document. This is a requirement for the link between AutoCAD and Isah.
Selecting the Use Snap check box will activate the Snap mode when inserting balloons.
Selecting the Use Paperspace check box will activate Paperspace when inserting balloons and the BOM into the drawing. If you leave this check box empty, Modelspace will be used.
Custom document properties section
It is possible to create document properties and to fill them with data originating from Isah. You can define these data on the Document property definitions form. In AutoCAD, only the properties of drawings (dwg files) can be filled in. Choose a document property definition in the Drawing (dwg) field.
At certain times, a VBA macro can be executed in the CAD link. This enables a customer to add additional functionality. This does require a CAD VBA project file that includes a number of permanent functions. These function names are determined by Isah, and cannot be changed. The name of the VBA project file is freely definable, but the project must contain a module with the name 'IsahEvents' which includes one or more of the following functions:
