To check whether sufficient capacity is available after you have planned a project, use the Info menu to open the Capacity overview form. The overview shows all the data relating to your project, which enables you to identify any bottlenecks straight away and adjust the planning accordingly.
The fact that the data on the Capacity overview form are based on the project planning is indicated by the chain icon displayed next to the menu option in the Info menu.
All standard functions of the regular Capacity overview form are available on the information form.
Tip: The capacity overview does not display the load on the capacity groups from the selected project only, but from all projects (and, if the corresponding check boxes have been selected, also from the production orders and offers). To see which project lines require the capacity of a particular capacity group, select that capacity group on the Capacity overview form, open the Go to menu, and choose the Project lines form. An overview opens showing all project lines (including the parent main projects) that use capacity of the selected capacity group. This makes it much easier to check for and remove any bottlenecks.

The Capacity overview form shows a graphical overview of the capacity group load. You can check the overview to identify any bottlenecks in the planning. If you detect any problems, you can solve them by rescheduling operations on the Operations planning board.
The data in the capacity overview originate from several forms:
The load data are the plan times from the Production calculation for operations form. Once an operation has been scheduled, the distribution of the plan time is displayed on the Day planning form. The load is calculated as follows: Load percentage = Load/Available capacity * 100%
The data relating to the available capacity of capacity groups originate from the Capacity groups form.
The data relating to the available capacity of employees originate from the Schedule form.
The form only displays the load for operations that meet the following conditions:
They have not been finalized.
They are part of production files that have not been finalized.
The production file does not have a 'History' status.
The data displayed relate to the period shown on the Period toolbar.
Showing capacity groups or employees
Use a preset to set the data to be displayed in the graph:
Capacity groups: The overview only shows capacity groups you have set to be visible on the Capacity overview form by selecting the Capacity overview check box on the General tab of the Capacity groups form.
Department capacity groups
Employees: The overview only shows employees you have set to be visible on the Capacity overview form by selecting the Capacity overview check box on the Work data tab of the Employees form.
Distinguishing load percentages
The load percentage is displayed on the right-hand side of the form. The load by capacity group is displayed over time. You can distinguish the different load percentages in the graph by assigning different colors to the percentage ranges on the Capacity overview settings form.
Customizing the display of the capacity overview
You can customize the display of the Capacity overview form to suit your information needs. To do so, use the Gantt chart properties form (View menu > Gantt chart settings > Properties) and/or use the toolbars on the Capacity overview form.
You can configure the following settings:
Use the toolbar on the Capacity overview form to display the data by day, week, month or year. Click to see less detail (for example, to switch from the 'Month/day' display to the 'Month/week' display), or click to see more detail.
Set the start date, the period length, and the finish date in on the toolbar.
You can choose the normal load (by period, for example 'Week'), or the cumulative load (the total load of all periods starting from the current date) by choosing Gantt chart settings in the View menu. Select the 'Cumulative' check box to see the cumulative load, or deselect it if you want the 'Normal' load type to be displayed. You can also click to change the load from 'Normal' to 'Cumulative' or vice versa.
Choose the capacity load you want to see: the capacity load from orders with an 'Order' or 'Actual costing' status (), the capacity load from production files with an 'Offer' status (), or the capacity load from project lines of the type 'Estimated' ().
You can choose to display only capacity groups or employees with an overload by clicking .
