Run the Create shipping notes for external operations process to create shipping notes for the parts that need to be subjected to an external operation. When the shipping notes are created, the progress of the external operations is updated in the production file, enabling you to see how many pieces have been shipped and the date on which they were shipped.
No stocks are maintained in Isah of parts or components you are shipping to a supplier for the purpose of an external operation. Isah does offer a variety of options, however, for registering more information than just the shipment.
When outsourcing stock parts for specific orders, you can issue the parts to the production order when you ship the parts to the contractor.
If the contractor holds a stock of the parts he processes at your instructions, transfer these parts from the stock to a dummy warehouse for external operations. Then issue the parts from this warehouse to the production order as soon as you have received the parts from your supplier.
Outsourcing components
Components are parts that have already been subjected to one or more operations before they are outsourced. Components are not included in the stock records. Components are usually outsourced for specific orders.
Rejects during external operations
During external operations, items may be rejected.
If the parts or components have been outsourced for a specific order, the contractor must report any rejects as soon as possible, because additional parts or components may have to be shipped to replace the rejects.
If the contractor holds a stock of the parts to be processed, the rejects must be reported to you, so that you can correct the stock in the dummy warehouse for external operations. Of course, you can also make the correction on a periodical basis via a stock count.
Each line shows the user the line was entered or created by. Use the selection fields on the processing form to specify whether you want to process your own lines or all lines.
Note: You can change, process or delete another user's lines only if you have rights to do so. If these rights have not been assigned to your user name, you can only change, process or delete your own lines.
