Parts

The preliminary costing process for a production file may include parts, operations, equipment, and external operations. The section below explains how part costs are calculated in Isah. This calculation depends on the origin of the parts in the calculation, i.e. Stock, Purchase or Production.

Parts with a 'Stock' origin

If the part calculation contains parts from stock, the preliminary part costs are calculated as follows:

Whether the calculation is based on the calculation price or the custom price depends on the setting of the price origin on the Calculation tab of the Production calculation for parts form.

The calculation price is displayed on the Calculation/production tab of the Parts form. The custom price can be entered on the Calculation tab of the Production calculation for parts form.

When performing calculations, Isah will take into account the waste percentage.

Parts with a 'Purchase to order' origin

If the part calculation contains purchased parts, the preliminary part costs are calculated as follows:

Whether the calculation is based on the calculation price, the purchase price, or the custom price depends on the setting of the price origin on the Calculation tab of the Production calculation for parts form.

The calculation price is displayed on the Calculation/production tab of the Parts form. The purchase price is displayed on the Purchase tab of the Parts form. The custom price can be entered on the Calculation tab of the Production calculation for parts form.

When performing calculations, Isah will take into account the waste percentage.

Parts with a 'Production' origin

If the part calculation contains parts originating from production, there are two possibilities:

If no underlying production file has been linked to the part line, you can still determine the calculation price yourself by using the Price origin field. The calculation is as follows:

The calculation price is displayed on the Calculation/production tab of the Parts form. The custom price can be entered on the Calculation tab of the Production calculation for parts form.As long as no production file is known, the 'Production file calculation price' field is set to '0'.

When performing calculations, Isah will take into account the waste percentage.

If the part line is linked to an underlying production file, the price origin is always 'Production file calculation price'.The calculation is as follows:

The calculation price of the underlying production file is displayed in the relevant file settings on the Production files form (PR Cost price tab, Total field, Total costs column).
