The Stock counts form lists stock counts you have performed ('Processed'), as well as stock counts still to be performed ('Open'). The lines on the Stock counts form make up the header of the underlying stock count lines, which hold detailed information.
It is not possible to add data on the Stock counts form. The stock count lines are created with the Create stock counts process. By referring to the stock count lines that have been created, you can check the actual stock present, after which you correct, authorize, and process the lines.
When the lines are processed, the stock differences are posted (the administrative stock is corrected), and the stock will be released for use again. The stock count status will not be set to 'Processed' until you have authorized and processed all underlying stock count lines.
Tip: If you have created an incorrect stock count that you do not want to use, you can manually set the status of the stock count header to 'Processed'. This will release the stock to be counted for use. Then create a new, correct stock count.
ABC codes
To have more frequent stock inventories for parts with a high turnover rate, and less frequent stock inventories for parts with a low turnover rate, you can use a ABC codes. You can enter the ABC code for each part on the General tab, or you could have the ABC codes created automatically by running the Determine ABC code process.
You then use the ABC code on the Create stock counts form to specify a selection.
