Cash/bank day books

Financial cash or bank transactions are registered in day books of the 'Bank/cash' type. When you register cash or bank receipts or expenses, the ledger account specified for the day book is automatically used as the contra account.

After you have matched a bank statement with outstanding invoices, select the day book in which you want to make the relevant transactions. For each bank statement, use one day book page.

Isah Finance processes entries in day books in the Journal, after which the ledger account is updated with the journal entry lines. The Ledger Account allows you to view the journal entry lines and access the entries in the log: this enables you to track how balances in a ledger account were created.

How does the screen work?

As soon as you specify a day book on the Cash/Bank Day Books form, the pages of the relevant day book will appear in the upper part of the form. If you click one of these pages, you will see the information at the bottom of the screen (Journal entry) and in the Display Panel (i.e. the right-hand column of the screen: Page, Transactions, Line).

Select a page and click the Lines tab at the bottom of the screen to view the detailed data on this page or to add lines. Use the Page tab to edit the General Data.

Options on the ribbon (Start)

Note: If the options on the ribbon are not accessible, then manual input is disabled for the day book. Manual input can be allowed or disallowed with the Blocked for manual changes option. If manual input is disabled, postings can be made only using the integration functionality.
