Sales Day Books

Sales invoices sent can be recorded in Day Books categorized as ‘Sales’ day books. You must use one day book page for each sales invoice. You can enter the invoice lines in the day book page lines. Based on a search path, the system then determines the offset account:

The majority of the entries in sales day books are managed automatically if sales invoices are processed in Isah. The search path used to determine the summary account for debtors is then managed the same way as for the manual registration of sales invoices in Isah Finance.

Isah Finance processes entries in day books in the Journal, after which the ledger account is updated with the journal entry lines. The Ledger Account allows you to view the journal entry lines and access the entries in the log: this enables you to track how balances in a ledger account were created.

How does the screen work?

When you enter a sales log in the Sales Day Books screen, the pages of the day book in question will appear in the top section of the screen. If you click one of these pages, you will see the information at the bottom of the screen (Journal entry) and in the Display Panel (i.e. the right-hand column of the screen: Page, Transactions, Line).

Select an invoice and click the Lines tab at the bottom of the screen to view the detailed data of the invoice or to add lines to the invoice. Use the Page tab to edit the general invoice details.
