Status information

A service task goes through several stages, and often a number of steps are required to finalize a scheduled task. The status of the service task provides information about the progress of the task. By changing the status, you are letting your colleagues know how the task is progressing.

You can change the status of a task by selecting the task and then clicking the appropriate status button on the toolbar at the top of the form. After you have changed the status, the icon representing the status will appear in the left-hand column next to the task.

All service tasks displayed on the tasks form in MFS have been scheduled for the start date set and have been assigned to you (and your colleagues).

Note: Your company may not use all statuses. You will only see the statuses defined by your application administrator in the application settings.

Order of statuses

Statuses can only be advanced. This means you can change it from 'En route' into 'Work in progress', but not the other way around. When you get into your car after finishing a task, you can start an hour line to indicate that you are traveling. The task status will remain unchanged, however, to ensure that the task status remains clear. Otherwise the office-based staff would not know whether you are still on your way to the task location or on your way back to the office. It also ensures status predictability if more than one employee is working on the same task.

Time registration using statuses

You can choose to have travel and work time registered automatically. If the application settings include an hour code for the statuses 'En route' and 'Work in progress', then any status changes will affect the time registration process. For example, if you set the task status to 'En route', Isah MFS will register the start time and start the travel time registration. The travel time registration will continue until you choose a different status or manually stop the line.
