Run the Copy indicators process to copy a KPI to a new or existing KPI. For example, if you want to use a KPI every year to enable you to track the turnover over a number of years, you can copy the current KPI to a new KPI every year. You can specify which sums and quantities you want to copy and whether you want to include KPI lines and any underlying KPIs.
Specify the KPI you want to copy and the copy destination:
Copy current analysis to new indicator: This will copy the KPI selected on the Key performance indicatorsform to a new KPI you are creating using this process.
Copy existing analysis to current indicator: This will copy an existing KPI to the KPI selected on the Key performance indicators form.
Copy current analysis to existing indicator: This will copy the KPI selected on the Key performance indicators form to an existing KPI.
If you choose to copy from or to a current analysis, the current KPI will be filled in automatically. Should you choose to copy from or to an existing KPI, you need to select the KPI. If you chose to copy to a new KPI, you have to fill in its details, so that the KPI can be created. Where necessary, you can customize the copies on the Key performance indicators form.
The Key performance indicators form shows that the KPI was derived from another KPI.
If you want to try out different versions of a KPI, you can create multiple versions. This is especially useful if the KPIs have a 'Provisional' status, because the actual values can already be determined at this stage.
The script selected in this field is used to retrieve the actual KPI values when the Calculate values for indicators process is executed. The actual values are available on the KPI lines (Lines button).
You are recommended to include one script for each KPI. It is generally quicker and more accurate to retrieve actual values using a script than to manually enter the data.
KPIs can be related to each other. For example, the 'Production' KPI and the 'Service' KPI together make up the turnover in the KPI called 'Company Turnover'. Select this check box to copy the KPI including underlying lines.
