Use bottleneck analyses to check production processes for possible problems. These bottlenecks can relate to the four calculation components: parts, operations, equipment, and external operations. Examples of possible progress issues are:
There is insufficient stock of the parts required.
The parts ordered will not be available when they are required in the production process.
Production should have started by now.
Final products should have been ready by now.
Production has been delayed.
The equipment is required for two production orders at the same time.
The part requiring an external operation should have been sent by now.
The part on which an external operation has been performed should have been returned by now.
You will find the processing results in the Order analyses form, which is available in the Sales module and the production modules. On this form, select the analysis of which you want to see the results.Then click the Linesbutton to list any bottlenecks found.
The simulation date allows you to run the analysis for a date other than the system date.
The date is not relevant to all checks; it is only relevant if progress is measured. The checks related to the available stock, for example, do not use the simulation date at all. Depending on the type of stock, Isah checks the available stock (by definition on the current date), or the planned stock on a date specified on a shipping line or part line, for instance.
Use the code for presets to assign an identifier to an analysis. The same code can be assigned to a user. If the user then selects the Bottleneckspreset, he will only see data having this code for which a bottleneck has been detected. The Bottlenecks preset is available for sales, production, and purchase orders.
Select this check box if you want the analysis to include any underlying levels.
When you start the check from sales offers or orders, and this check box is selected, also all underlying production orders will be checked. If the check box is not selected, only the selected sales orders will be checked.
