In the Projects module, some forms have been modified and some forms have been added.
The Projects form, which is the first form you see when you open the module, used to contain both projects and project lines. Previously, if you wanted to see the details of a particular project, you first had to look up the project and then change the preset ('All from project') in order to see the corresponding lines.
In version 4.6 or later, the behavior of the projects form is the same as the behavior of the Sales module, for instance. When you open the Projects form, you only see the so-called 'header lines', which contain general information about the project, including the customer, the status, the completion percentage, and the start and finish dates. On this form, navigate to the project of which you want to see the details. Now click the Project lines - planning button to see the planning-related information about the project, or click the Project lines - financial button to see the financial information.
The advantage of separating the planning functionality from the financial functionality is that once you have set up the planning form to suit your needs, you will no longer have to modify it for financial planning purposes, and vice versa. This way, the data are always available quickly and they can be managed separately.
The Successors button is no longer available on the projects form. Header lines (entire projects) have no successors; only underlying project lines (operations) have successors.
Project lines - planning
The Project lines - planning form opens with the Gantt chart that used to be displayed on the main form in the previous Isah version (on the Gantt chart tab). As on the other form, you can link operations, move them in the timeline, and calculate the planning.
Project lines - financial
The Project lines - financial form opens with a list form. Use the presets, column functions, filters, conditional formatting and other options to modify this list form to your needs. Your form settings are saved automatically, so that you will always see the information you need.
